I remember Tennys at UT years back and like so many others, he sort of faded into tennis oblivion, never reaching that Elite category. And then they pop up from time to time I remember Ryan Harrison was a Junior future stud and never really got it going...great doubles player, but just never could break in!
It is just amazing that these Big 3 are still dominating at 32-33 and 38

That was a very good UT team. JP Smith played 1, Rhyne Williams played 2, and Tennys played 3. He totally dominated at 3 and made the NCAA singles semifinal, losing to Williams in 3.
From there he went pro and just slowly grinded his way up the rankings. He had one injury setback, but was mostly positive momentum.
