Winnable match.

ETA: if he gets the second round he would probably beat Shapo, who still hasn't figured out how to translate his game to the dirt. But it will probably be Struff in all likelihood, and I'm not liking his chances as much there.

How long is it?*

This is such a huge deal for the 50-100 level guys. Tennys is actually doing pretty well for himself money-wise as of the past two seasons, but his first couple main draw majors must have been a huge relief. Like one day you can't afford a coach, and the next day you can.

People hammer RG for not being up to par on the facilities, but I enjoyed the small size of the grounds. They just need a roof or two.

I rarely root for TGGRN, but I am these two weeks. I tend to support athletes that I used to root against (Jordan, LeBron, Tiger) when they get older.

The young guys mostly disgust me other than Felix, Djoker is uninspiring, Fed doesn't have the heart to grind, etc., etc. I can't really think of anyone I'd be happy to see win who has a realistic chance besides Rafa. Maybe Monfils or Thiem.

I wouldn't be unhappy if Thiem won because he seems like a good dude, but I certainly want TGGRN to go FULL dozen. This might sound crazy to say, but I think this will be his last one if he wins it. I realize he's quite QUITE exceptional as an example, but clay is generally a young man's surface.

ETA: if he does get a dozen, just think about that for a second. A dozen of the SAME major. Will never happen again.

Garin was arguably the hottest player on tour for about a month, but I think he may have burned himself out. Plus Stan’s experience edge is massive.

Stan in 3 or 4.

For the record, I haven’t checked the odds.

There wouldn't be any posted for a match in the second round.

Sitting here wondering why Alex is farting around in Geneva the week before RG, but enjoying the close camera angles and now thinking it may be a stroke of genius to build confidence and go on a run.

I always question the garbage 250 the week before a major for any top player. Yes, it could be a confidence booster to go on a run, but it also strikes me as unnecessarily taxing and an invitation to get ousted in the third round because you're already fatigued.

Focker is on my fantasy team and has been KILLING me all season, so hopefully the former.

Aldo won Delray beach? I missed this completely. He's coming in on a fairly hot streak. I'm maybe not as bullish on Tennys as I was yesterday.

Props to Alex for trying to play his way out of the slump, but I don't think dicking around in 3 setters with dudes like Jarry, Delbonis, and Dellien is a positive sign at all.
