If the commissioner approved the trade and he passed a physical in the middle of the game, I'm sure it still wouldn't be legal.

managers have to fill out their lineup cards before the game

i assumed that even if it was legal, it would never happen, but i was just wondering.
is this required as a rule? or is it the team's choice?

If a player (Hart in this case) was traded in the middle of a series, he could play for both teams. Not both teams in the same game though.

I think it's required to make sure that a team doesn't dump a pitcher with no ligaments on his arm to another team. And even if it isn't required, no team would choose to waive that right

i think i remember hearing something not too long ago about this. it was a suspended game. the teams had played the first few innings and the rest of the game was suspended until a few weeks or months later. in the first part of the game, some guy played for one team. he was traded in between, and played for the other team in the second part of the game.

I know its probably beating a dead horse. But man, I still cant get over the fact that Wagner is naturally right handed.

That's the ball game, gentlemen.
It's great to start the second half the same way we started the first.

Good win. Now the Cubbies need to hold on and the Giants need to win

LOL, Cubs 11 Phillies 2
And Lincecum going tonight against the Mets.
How good is our bullpen? I liked Soriano but I don't feel nervous when Wags comes in even if its just a 1 run lead.
