Four walks in a row would be an earned run. It's all about errors whether it's earned or unearned. Earned runs are a reflection of the pitcher, not whether the offense actually "earned" it.

I'm still learning what counts as earned or not. I thought if the base runner is walked, and scores it isn't earned. My bad.

Its all about how the scoring runner reached base to begin with. And a walk is earned by the batter

its dependent on the defense too sometimes.
in the case of a tag out play, its a little more arbitrary. Thats why im wondering if in that case its teh officials scorers decisions.
But they had the infield in, and he clearly would have been out.

a earned run can never be given if a runner scores after a 3rd out should have been made. so thats not always true.
in this case, that would have been the 2nd out, and it wasnt a force play. Which is why i asked. That changes things

That's not entirely true. If the guy gets on by hitting a triple and then scores on an error with 2 outs it would be unearned.
Basically, if he reaches on an error then scores, it's unearned. Also, I think if he scores on an error, it's unearned. Also, each error is basically an out (as long as the play should have resulted in an out). Any run that scores after there should be three outs is considered unearned.
