They actually aren't being bad right now. Expected them to argue with me more but I'm trying to not be a jackass as well.

They are all dead serious.

They will also take Jurrjens/Delgado/Minor

Damn...

Have you asked them how they would feel about an offer of Jurrjens + one 10th-15th rated prospect? That's about what I would give up for Adam Jones. He just isn't that good.

OK maybe that would be lowballing them a bit. Make it a ~7-12 prospect.

That's actually about exactly what I proposed. Said I'd do Jurrjens and an 8-15 type prospect. They didn't like that very much.

Jurrjens and Jones are equal. They even made the same amount last season

They are insane if they think they are going to get two MLB ready middle/top of the rotation starters, let alone 3, for Adam Jones.

Sources: Talks between #Orioles, #Braves over A. Jones are "nowhere." Braves will not trade one of top four young SPs for Jones.

Ken Rosenthal

Glad to see the Braves aren't budging. If a deal gets made, they are going to have to budge from the other side.

At this point, I don't even want Jones anymore. We'd be better off just keeping our guys and waiting until after spring training and/or at the ASB to see where we are lacking.

I don't disagree with that, but in that case, you put all you're relying on Heyward and Prado to bounce back. But the can certainly do just that.

I'm really, really hesitant to ever accuse a professional athlete of "giving up" or "not trying" or whatever, because I think it's very rarely true. If an athlete commits some sort of gaffe or is just not playing well, it's awfully hard to gauge the underlying cause through a TV screen. Maybe he's hurt, or exceptionally worn out, or is just plain having a bad day, or any number of reasons. If you're so certain that it's because he's a lazy bumfraud or what have you, I'm probably suspicious of your reasoning. But here, there is very little room for debate: shortstop Alex Gonzalez knows his team is leading 8-1, a grounder is within reach, and he does not give two quarters of a shite. I'm not trying to knock him, mind you. I ain't about character judgment. Just calling a spade a spade, is all.

Thoughts?

I don't think it was in reach but he looks bad for not even attempting to make a play

I can't really disagree with what he said.

Gonzo should have at least given an effort, whether it was in reach or not. But I don't really care.

Pastornicky might not have the best glove and his arm is pretty weak but he'll always hustle no matter what. I'm actually looking forward to seeing him play even though I think it's a year too early.
