In the Nobody Cares department, Garcia won the WTA Finals.

Also the NextGen Finals start tomorrow. Besides Nakashima, Musetti, and Draper, I can't name anyone else. I'm guessing Rune isn't allowed to play both events.

So, it's Ruud/FAA/Nadal/Fritz and then Djoker/Med/Tsitsi/Rublev?

Ah shite... yeah. Didn't realize they are in the same group.

Ruud and Fritz win on opening day. I'm close to saying Rafa is done winning most tournaments. But, he has never been great indoors.

Nadal is only playing because he has a chance to become #1 again, which would be for the last time. He's defending a ton of points at the beginning of next year and will likely be outside the top 5 by next summer or before.

He says he doesn't care about #1, but why else would he be playing? He should just rest up until January.

I saw that he has to win the tournament now to get year end number one. I could see him tap out early.

Rafa is done. Looked awful again today like last week.

He can't just show up after not playing for 2-3 months and beat good players. I think he might have one more clay court season in him, but that's probably it.

Rublev beat Medvedev in a third set breaker. Good match, Medvedev fought off four match points in the tiebreak. The court seems slow to me. Medvedev couldn't hit through it.

Ruud +110 against Fritz -145 tomorrow seems the opposite of what it should be. Fritz must be getting a bump for the win yesterday.

Agree, and if you look at the odds for FAA vs. Rafa, Ruud beat the better player.

I would take Ruud, hard to tell how good Fritz is playing because Rafa played so bad yesterday. If I was playing Fritz, I would play mind games with him and throw him off. Looks weak mentally. Great strokes though.

It’s starting to move a little. I snatched +120.

Nice, Djokovic is probably going to win this tournament as well. It was criminal what the Aussi and US Open did to him, and I’m an Alcaraz fan.

Just watched Rublev's match point and it's the first time I've ever seen him hit a slice backhand, and he hit 3 of them. Not that it's a big deal or anything because it's not a shot that will transform anyone's game immensely (and it looks awkward for now), but maybe this is the beginning of him finally trying to add in some variety.

Small plays on Rafa +130 and Ruud +110 today. I was looking at odds in the middle of the night and blown away by the amount of challengers you can bet. There were like 12 matches live or coming up that I had never heard one name on there. On one hand, I wouldn't mind betting those matches because those guys are trying to put food on the table. But, they are probably ripe for corruption/tanking, although I am sure the books are watching that closely.

On DraftKings there are streams for a lot of those matches too so you can actually watch them. Could be true for some other apps or platforms, as well. Not sure.

Rafa is getting clapped again.

Yeah, he looks bad. It will be very interesting to see if he performs well in Australia.

I don't need to be watching challengers all day.
