Guilty by court of opinion, instead of innocent until proven guilty.

Sadly, it will never be stopped.

It has destroyed innocent lives like the Duke Lacrosse boys who needed the law to help salvage their reputations months later.

And yet, despite it's unfair nature, it has been a somewhat satisfying tool in making OJ a social pariah, when the justice system definitively failed.

And basically every single celebrity who has been accused has written some sort of note along the lines of "I feel sorry that my behavior offended X, I grew up in a different time, I have some different recollections of the exact events, I respect women who have been victims of sexual assault for coming forward, and I need to deeply think about my past actions and how I have hurt others."

I asked on the OT a few weeks ago if anyone did something different besides Roy Moore, and the only name that anyone came up with in a multiple page thread was Jeremy Piven.

If you were accused of molesting or harassing someone, and you had no guilt, is that how you would respond? of course not, yet that is how dozens of these men have responded.

So the idea of Duke lacrosse-type incidents being the norm today is beyond false.
