He could've fired him when he 1st saw it

ESPN also could have called him out on it then. Why did they wait so long?

Whether they deserved to be fired and whether ESPN should be campaigning for it are two different questions.

It doesn't matter what we think. It's a decision primarily for the parents of the kids, the administration, and the Rutgers community. Not the self-righteous nation as a whole.

And for all intents and purposes the problem was addressed and corrected and everyone in Rutgers was going along just fine. Why the need for the sudden uproar if had been handled. ESPN may not like how it was handled per their agenda but again it's a Rutgers problem.

The story was still out there and Pernetti was open about it. They could have gotten the tape back then.

Are you a parent of one of the players, a member of the administration or an alumni or booster of Rutgers. Otherwise it's just your opinion.

The university took care of the problem and corrected it. The problem now is that ESPN and their followers don't like it.

Saying that the university acted to address the problem and correct it is not opinion. It's a matter of record.

Yeah but I'm not calling for anyone to be fired or anything of that nature. I'm calling out the national media for their reporting on the incident as well as the self-righteousness of the public at large not associated with Rutgers for their up-in-arms attitude towards the incident.

But thanks for playing....

The behavior that has caused this was his abuse of players. After the university disciplined him, the behavior stopped. There are no further reports of anything else happening since the story broke in NOVEMBER. So yeah.....I guess that means it was corrected.

The idea that people outside of Rutgers should just watch the tape and have no opinion is retarded.

President said they fired Rice not for cause. This is going to turn into a huge lawsuit. Parents, Rice and AD.

bullshite

They sat on it...just like they sat on the Te'o story, but they did that in their own interests because they didn't want it to screw up their coverage of the BCS title game

They sat on this until the Final 4 weekend

When people say this they really mean they disagree with the result but they have no one to really blame and the media makes an easy scapegoat.

When ESPN sat on this story for 5 months to wait and run it during the NCAA tourney, they should take some incoming for the way they handled it.

It had already gone through the news cycle in November and there was never any attempt at a cover up. ESPN chose to make this a story again.
