People hit passing shots WAY better than anyone ever thought about. The net is used to put the ball away. If you go there on a prayer, it's over. The idea that balance and movement have improved so much negates the thought that moving towards the net puts pressure on your opponent.

Murray can, and will, hit any spot if you give him a target. Federer doesn't just try to hit winners, he sets you up for those winners. He knows the percentages of where you can and will go and plays it like a chess match. Players who can trump what he expects are the only ones who make him think. Nadal, when backed into a disadvantage, can generate a shot with enough on it that Federer can not pull the string. We'll see if Murray can use the slower hard court and come up with goods too. His movement is unreal, we'll see if his fight can keep Federer off of his throat.
