I hate when they used the word "quality" without an adjective. The word doesn't mean shite on its own without a word like high, low, good, bad, etc.

reason why it's retarded: 1. The football at its highest point is uncatchable by any player. The ball is on the way down when the receiver is jumping up to get it.
It's not retarded. It means the player caught the ball at the highest point at which it could reasonably be caught. They rely on the listeners to infer the bolded portion.

Right. Another reason why I just prefer "attack the catch" or "high point the ball" (with high point used as a verb).
