The Angels are a very good organization with maybe the best manager in all of MLB. Plus, he can prolong his career by DHing some of the time. Lots of reasons to go there besides just money.

That's a good point.

I think it's silly that pitchers still hit anyway..
Can anyone post a link to confirm the story?

how much of Vernon Wells' atrocious contract are the Blue Jays still paying?

The AL now makes a ton of sense for Pujols. The Angels deal was the best, and smartest deal for him. If he makes the 10 years, we'll see. But you can't fault Albert for taking the best deal on what will be the last contract of his career.
And while you all call him a piece of shite & greedy...this dude is one of the most charitable athletes in all of sports. He might live well...but you can bet some of that $250M will go towards improving other's lives as well.

Guranteed full no trade clause as well
Have fun being stuck paying him $25 million a year in years 5-10
Trumbo will stay at 1st, Pujols to DH, Morales dealt, imo

perfect time to trade him. Stock is high, however, teams won't be inclined to give up so much because the Angels now have Pujols. Angels should have moved Trumbo in a "surprise" move prior to signing Pooholes

i don't care if his reliable source was right about the playoffs.. i absolutely cannot foresee the NL going to the DH. that would be so disgusting.

This is going to take a few days for me to process

Pitchers don't hit in college.

They got tired of losing to the Rangers... had to do it big.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers put a full court press for Fielder soon.

I would imagine it's kinda front-loaded. Would you feel different it they are paying him $35 million for the 1st 5 years, but only $15 for the last 5?
