Terry Finley has been doing it for years. Ever notice why they can't stick with one trainer? Worse than Mattress Mack used to be.

Where did I say the purses come from KY? FG pretty much paid for all the additions and upgrades at CD they made in the last 10 years. CD can still sell FG to whomever they want. Yes I know it's a historical landmark. It's not only the slots at FG, it's the video poker machines at every OTB around the NOLA area that CD gets too. The condition book is a joke due to the LA horsemen association /state implementing the 3 state bred races a day. It's a bunch of rats. That entire meet except for the LA Derby/ FG oaks preps is Delta with a turf course. They can attract some nice outfits (Cox, Asmussen, McPeek) but those guys send their stronger string to Oaklawn because of the money. It's still a 2nd tier meet. It can be the premier winter destination, but there are too many "yes" people that take orders from Louisville, that won't step up and attract bigger outfits. I do realize the LA bred guys need their share, as well ,but it seems to me the racing office and entry box caters more to them than anything. It's simply New York. Bloated purses, with a bunch of state bred rats. God only knows what those trainers are injecting into the horses. Don't get me started on the lousy handke too. The betting public even knows it's a crappy meet. One thing racing needs to do is make Pick 4's and Pick 3's a buck minimum. That will boost the handle. Also get rid of the ,50 cent trifectas, and make it a dollar minimum. FG should charge admission just like Churchill does. It will weed out the crack heads that go there every day and bet 10 cent supers and borrow money. Place is a joke

You said money is being kept in KY and not being sent to LA especially for the state bred races. So what does that mean?

It’s definetly a premier track in the winter . Look at the trainers that come here with the quality of horses. Please don’t tell me Oaklawn is better. Only think Oaklawn offers is more purse money and that’s it. Better trainers and horses are at FG..

FG needs the state breds because the open horses are now spread out between FG, Oaklawn, and Turfway. That’s not FG’s fault that they are spread out. The state breds fill races with full fields. The purse money gets better each year and would of been better had they not hosted the Claiming Crown. You can thank the dumb HBPA President for that .

I said the money is being kept in KY. Basically mean LA has sent them money for years for KY and CD only. Again, look at the additions before Derby City here was opened. If you're good watching and wagering on sore 5k claimers that should be at Will Rogers or Fonner , more power to you. There's a reason why the FG oaks isn't a G1. The stakes committee even believes the meet is a 2nd tier. More horses per start are running at Turfway more than any track in the winter. I wager on quality horses, and big pools. FG doesn't have both. Just be patient. Wait and see in the next few years the field sizes at TP, compared to FG. Let's compare the two condition books when they come out later this year, and then we can have a friendly debate about which meet is better. The racing secretary at FG should be running the show, but unfortunately, CD put in some slot machine repairman from EVG that is in over his head. Robbie Alborado basically got him that job. The backside needs to be bulldozed completely. A hurricane is the only way it'll get "rebuilt"

The Oaks not being a Grade 1 is a farce. The committee needs to get there head out there arse.

Yes Turfway has fuller fields That don’t mean it’s a better quality meet. Last time I checked Turfway runs 5k claimers too. FG is a better quality meet and there’s no comparison. Purses at FG will get better in due time.

Don’t know why you want the backside bulldozed it’s an old track with old concrete barns. Those barns are perfect for the winter time but definitely not the summer time.

Yes I do realize that. There is a difference between cheap LA breds and cheap KY breds. Class class class. Now I will say this. I'm a fan of the champs day at FG. It displays some nice state bred horses that normally don't get to run for a nice 100k purse anywhere else. There is a nice LA mare that ran 2nd in a Gr 1 on Oaks Day . She's arguably the best mare to be an LA bred since Happy Ticket. We'll probably see her at CD again in the Fleur De Lis , depending what Pomier decides. We both agree to disagree, and that's fine. I just think FG is a 2nd tier track.

There isn't a 4 year old and up filly and mare race in LA that's worth over 100k? Unless it's something at LAD or EVG, but I'm not holding my breath. She already has a grade 1 stakes place from the LA Troienne. Will wait till the noms come out in a few weeks.
