re: Ohio State alcohol sales in three games: >$400,000

How many people are at the game who are underage? Generally there are a lot of those. The pool of people that are eligible to buy alcohol at a game and willing is probably a lot smaller than you think it is.

Ohio State officials have to regularly apologize for the behavior of their fans. Alcohol or no alcohol, it's not like the public's perception of Ohio State could get any worse.

Or just through the half while fans are still in attendance?
They probably cut off at the start of the third quarter.

If only what you just spouted was true. There were issues after the Texas game in 2005 (many of which were fueled by Texas fans).
Since then there have been many changes in the game day atmosphere at Ohio State. I have personally been to over 90% of the home games since that Texas game and have never seen an opposing fan mistreated. I hosted a Georgia fan from this forum last year for the Michigan State game and except for the fact that Ohio State laid an egg during the game I believe he had a great experience.
But by all means feel free to keep spouting bullshite about something that happened over a decade ago.

100K, $10 a beer...I'd really expect at least a million bucks a game. No, everyone isn't going to have a beer. If half the people have 2 though, there you go.
It is probably closer to $8/beer in my experience. I think $200,000 in revenue per game would be very reasonable considering that is only 25,000 beers sold.
ETA: Revenue for alcohol sales at the University of Texas was $1.8MM for 6 home games in 2015. I think LSU would do just as well if not better, but to get $1MM in revenue per game is absurd.

Much like the current state of your football program.

Still $500,000, and I doubt you'd average 2 per person. I also doubt they'd serve it in student areas

It was not just 2005. It was a series of incidents. Your own president decried the "culture of rioting."

Riot Cops Use Tear Gas in 2015
Aside from these cases, I've been to two Ohio State games as someone who enjoys college football and has good friends in Columbus (and who are incidentally OSU alumn). Naturally, there are good and bad fans who support every team. However, both times I was completely disappointed in the boorish behavior of the fan base on the whole.
Sorry, but your university has an image problem concerning this issue.

I mean you were the dick first, what does that say about UGA?
Never knew osu had a reputation in the first place. Good school with a huge following

I heard someone say this a while ago, and I'd die for this.
I know drunk college kids and well, drunk fans never turn out to be positives, but here is his solutions.
Your ticket is good for 1 jumbo beer. (yes you still have to pay, you just have to turn in your ticket as well. You can also buy extra "tabs" before the season). One jumbo wont knock your socks off, but it will help keep the tailgating buzz going.

They're going to drink either way
The solution is to serve alcohol in the stadium

Absolutely, and this allows them to do so. I actually see way more issues with drunk adults than kids. difference between being in prime and not.

Yes. It's $8 a beer ($9 for a craft beer), you can only buy two at a time and they stop selling at the 10 minute mark of the third quarter.

You quoted Karen Holbrook and used kids celebrating after winning a championship to attempt to prove your point?

LSU fans are laughing at the OSU drinking lightweights
Posted on 10/11/16 at 5:18 pm to MikeyFL
Then again, none of us have any clue how Georgia students would celebrate a football championship.

How much did West Virginia make when LSU drank all of their beer before halftime?
Posted on 10/12/16 at 7:44 am to VABuckeye
Yeah you can't drink around that stadium. Be in a bar or a mile away in a parking lot
