7 is going to play as the hardest 270 yard par 4 ever. right on the upper right side of that tier.
There are some very hard pin placements, I'd they hardened the course no way people will be able to stop the ball.

Wow!! I'll be amazed if anybody breaks 70 today. Those are as tough as anything I've seen.

I don't hate Tiger but I have a hard time pulling for him to make any putt.

NBC Nicklaus documentary of his first US Open win at Oakmont starting 1PM with tournament coverage at 2PM and live golf at 3PM all times central. Golf channel on now - Ames and Ogilvie were the first group off at 1120 central. US Open site has 8 & 18 live video at 3PM haven't found any earlier web video coverage.

Winged Foot course setup was awesome when Geoff Ogilvy won his US Open in 2006. What I like about US Open golf is that if a grinder gets close in the fourth round he has a real chance to win.

Today I'm going with Furyk, Gmac and Westwood in that order.

Why? Too many bunkers?

Never warmed up to Whistling Straights as a majors site and thought Dustin Johnson got a raw deal on his "bunker" penalty.

Don't see Whistling Straits on future US Open courses. See 2 new courses hosting their 1st Open. Chambers Bay in Washington (2015) and Erin Hills in Wisconsin (2017).
