Thomas was average at best at Nicholls and somehow still got the Northwestern job. But as you can see with what Rebowe did at Nicholls, the right coach can turn that program around quickly.

I was there in 03-07.
I remember them getting a lot of D1 transfers that wasn’t getting playing time. Like guys that I read about on Dandy Don that ended up at other D1 schools besides LSU.
Craig Nall was there a few years before that.
Those days are gone now that players dont have to sit out a year.

A lot of collegiate sports programs, especially in LA need to go the way of the dodo bird.

SLU beat the crap out of NWSU and Murray State, and I would handicap Murray State -14 if they played NWSU. SLU had NWSU at negative yards in the first half. It got to the point in the third my mom said “I hope they let those poor kids score.”
I know NWSU has some history and the LSHOF is right off campus, but they are just not good at any sports outside of some slightly above .500 seasons in basketball and baseball. They would be the first athletic program on the chopping block if the state needed to cut some.

Didn’t have to sit out when transferring down from FBS to FCS. Good point. Instead of playing down just go to another FBS team
