I mean I've already said it. They can't determine their worth on their own.
Why do NFL players need agents? MLB? NBA? People who (are supposed to) know how to negotiate are supposed to take care of that for you. These are literally 18-19 year old kids. A 45 year old in charge of dishing out deals with dog walk them in any contract negotiation. Some of these guys can barely read. I mean shite, they can't even sign their own FAFSA paperwork. They literally need their parents to sign their NLI to go to college on a scholarship.
Think about a guy like Ryan Williams who was 17 at the beginning of the year. He quite literally did not have the capacity to execute a written contract in the state of Louisiana as a freshman.
Yes, there are players in the pros who don't have agents. It's the exception, not the rule.

And the universities make even more between tv deals, student enrollment, endowment.
