I don't suppose Goodell was too serious about putting a team in London, but I do think it could/would work if there were more than one team on the other side of the Atlantic, especially if they played each other twice (maybe thrice) per year.

Ten years from now, assuming every current team stays put:

AFC East: Buffalo, London, Miami, New England, New York, Rhein
AFC Central: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh
AFC West: Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Tennessee

NFC East: Atlanta, Carolina, Dallas, New York, Philadelphia, Washington
NFC Central: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota, Saint Louis, Tampa Bay
NFC West: Arizona, Los Angeles, Mexico, New Orleans, San Francisco, Seattle

Or, if Toronto is a better idea than Mexico:

AFC East: Buffalo, London, Miami, New England, New York, Rhein
AFC Central: Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh
AFC West: Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Tennessee

NFC East: Atlanta, Carolina, Dallas, New York, Philadelphia, Washington
NFC Central: Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Toronto
NFC West: Arizona, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Saint Louis, San Francisco, Seattle

Sorry, Gizmo. I made a little typo. What I meant was,

AFC East: Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas
AFC Central: Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas
AFC West: Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas

AFC East: Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas
AFC Central: Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas
AFC West: Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Las Vegas

NFL would have better actual football success expanding into Canada than Europe...but the money isn't there I suppose like it is in Europe.

Punting on 3rd down would put any Canadian team at a disadvantage.

Better than a European avoiding hand contact with the ball

And I can't imagine how many excessive celebration penalties the teams would get after every touchdown.

Seriously dude.
Canada would be a really good choice though.

Check the original post again. If you eliminate Mexico, put Saint Louis in the West, and place Toronto in the central...take a look.

Mexican Americans do support the NFL and Mexico City has the population to support a team.

True. 100,000+ people showed up for a regular season game between Arizona and San Francisco. Damn.

I'd be pissed if I got drafted by that team. Live in a shithole area, police are corrupt, etc. They would have to pay more for the same players I would think. Hell, New Orleans, Detroit, etc. >>>>>> Mexico City.

Oh 100% agreed, but Canada couldn't support a team. Europe isn't ready(probably won't ever be).

There's a big difference between Mexico City and Tijuana.

Mexico City is still really scary. Most big corporations have their own private security forces.

I think there is just a big difference between America and Mexico just to start out with!

The original post was edited after I posted. But to stay on topic, I know Toronto may seem like the default choice, but I think Montreal would be a better choice. Most of Toronto are usually Bills fans, and considering the Bills have one of the smallest fanbases in the NFL, it would be unfair of the NFL.
However, if the NFL would not expand, I think a move from Buffalo to Toronto by the Bills franchise would be great.

This is still considered a possibility I thought it had been more or less concluded that this was an eventuality.

i can tell you this, london could support a team as long as it was a real NFL team...i honestly think they could.

living over here - there are more football fans than i realized, so A. with a lot of americans in the london area, and B. the fans that are here, they could easily sell out a 60,000 seat stadium 8 times a year for football...i just think the cost and time difference just poses too much of a problem for a london team.

London is way too far. It's unfair for all the teams including the London "team."
