Probably not the best place to ask, but I will go for it anyways.

Can someone tell me what a unit is?

I follow these threads frequently and have always been curious. TIA.

A unit is what you're willing to bet. For basketball games, my unit is $1.25 For others it might be 1000

It's whatever your standard dollar amount for betting one game. So if you normally bet $20 a game, your unit would be $20 bucks.

So say you bet Duke for 1 unit (20 bucks) and Maryland 2 units (40 bucks).

I guess I just always assumed is was $100. So on bets that you guys make are they a match? Bet one unit to get one unit or are they weighted based on matchup?

I flat bet 1.1 units to win 1 unit on normal juice. Some people will make heavier plays on certain matchups, but I prefer to flat bet the same rate.

My first year betting. I'm going extremely small on basketball until I feel like Stuckey will start winning

Your unit could be monopoly money for all I care.

Mines only $5 for basketball. Probably will bump to $10 whenever football season is over.

I try to when I feel good about what I have to offer. The Titans-Steelers Thursday night game, I was all over the Titans and the bet thread was heavy Steelers. Gave my two cents but I do not think many listened.

Most of the time I just follow these cause I do ESPN Streak for the Cash and a lot of their matchups are spread related. Helped me last night cause I noticed everyone was heavy Duke -4 and Streak had it straight up. I took Duke and now have an 11 game streak.

I always figured a unit as $100. Or as my old bookie used to say "dimes"

Now I'm wondering what a unit is to everybody on here
