Actually, when you look at the revenue generated in each playoff series, it absolutely does matter. You may not have a legit shot at the WCF, but making it to the second round is an additional injection of cash into the team coffers. Better seed = better chance at more money.

I hope OKC does lose to Memphis, but I’m not holding my breath. I don’t want my Jazz facing them in the first round. Alas, they are the most likely matchup.
