My guess is Dempster will be a Dodger by tomorrow.
They need him. They're getting exposed, finally.

The Rangers are in a real bind as far as making a deal.
Had they fallen apart this year they could have easily dealt Hamilton and Nathan to restock the minor league system.
But since they are most likely playoff contenders (even if the Angels surpass them, they should get one of the wildcard spots) they have nothing that they either can trade or that any team would want.
Probar can't go anywhere since Andrus will leave the team once his deal ends (all Boras clients do) and Probar is the heir apparent. Olt is probably due to replace Moreland at 1B. With Josh due to leave after this year Martin is probably the CF of the future, but can they afford to deal Snyder or Gentry given Josh and Nellie's injury records?
And none of the pitchers they've called up have been even mediocre. Scheppers, in fact, is an outright disaster (why he wasn't sent down instead of Perez is beyond me--must have new pics of Wash and Coke Kitty). Tateyama might get you low level prospects at best. They can't deal Ross (their most effective bullpen reliever) or Feliz (the former ROY has fallen way off, he's not effective starting or relieving).
With one of the top records in MLB they may not want to make any major moves. And with little in terms of trading assets (which they will need at the big league level in the next 1-2 years) they may have no choice.
yeah... um... the majority of this is pretty damn off base.

yeah. that's why I chose not to address individual points.
Though the impending meltdown he predicted at the end of last season certainly hasn't come to fruition.

Probar and Mike Oit for Felix.

I read an interesting article talking about moving Kinsler to OF in order to get Profar up sometime in the near future. I would guess next season. That means you have Beltre, Andrus, Profar, and the swinging door at first, with Olt possibly thrown in later.

Also, apparently Nolan was never high on Feliz as a starter and ultimately wants to move him back to BP. That's why he brought Oswalt in. Apparently Nolan handled Oswalt's negotiations himself.

Is that brick wall supposed to be in reference to how solid your defense will be next year if that happens?

does the pope shite in the woods?

They play fantastic defense. Still need another high contact/speed guy, IMO.

Meh...Beltre with that .965 fielding percentage just isn't that impressive to me.

I agree. There are a couple of missing pieces. But I don't know that there is another team in the league that's as close to being complete.
