My theory is that if NCSU were to end up in the SEC and UNC doesn't, all it will take is a short run of success for NCSU to take over the market. By success I mean don't get freaking smoked every weekend, and don't get eliminated from the Atlanta discussion by mid September. Use some of that $ to upgrade coaching, facilities etc... You'll see a lot of blue shirts getting traded in for red out on the sidewalk.

IMO, the biggest brands in the ACC are Clemson, FSU, and UNC. Maybe Miami as well. UNC is obviously also a new geography for the SEC, for whatever that is worth.

Culturally, I think Clemson, FSU, NC State, and Virginia Tech are the best fits for the SEC.

I don't want any more expansion, but if we do add more, I'd like one of the choices in North Carolina and Virginia.

Yep, if the SEC thinks they'll ever expand again at any point, they should go ahead and grab these four. Maybe get UNC instead of Va tech, but I think Clemson, NCSU, and FSU are no brainers. They all resemble SEC schools (some more than others). I think you could be done talking about expansion forever at that point, because if it goes beyond that 20-24 team conference size we'll be talking about something else entirely. There would have to be some incredible shift in order for a conference to be better than that 20 team SEC, at least in football.
