I remember that Finals like it was yesterday. Most teams playing the Lakers double/triple teamed Shaq, leaving Fisher/Kobe/Malone, etc. wide open.
Larry Brown opted to play Shaq one-on-one with Ben Wallace, claiming that he didn't care if Shaq scored 50 points a game...he wasn't neglecting Kobe, Fisher, etc. Shaq spent the whole series wearing himself down by trying to dominate Ben Wallace (who was not a great one-on-one defender).
At times they threw Sheed, Okur, even Corliss on Shaq for short stints.

One could make a compelling case of each of these players being the most critical toward their championship run. Not sure the NBA will see another championship starting 5 like that.
That's why I loved this run. I guess you could call them "superstats" if you want, but they all seemed to contribute evenly, in different ways.

Quite possibly the most boring NBA Finals ever. I don't think anyone wanted that series to go 5 games much less 7.
Never did understand why people say this. This was an awesome series.

I agree. I am also in the minority thinking the Spurs are not boring. Sure, Tim Duncan's style of play can be a bit dry. There is nothing boring about Manu Ginobili or Tony Parker, IMO.

It's people that don't like the nuances in basketball.
Everything has got to be flashy, run and gun, high flying, high scoring.
