‘Kobe: Making a Legend’ on Max

Just finished episode one. It started off ok. Learning about his childhood in Italy was interesting.

However, they completely glaze over the actual basketball to talk about superfluous things in his life.

They jumped straight from him moving back from Italy to being a phenom his senior year to getting drafted to winning his first championship all in a few minutes. And all of the talk about the championship was just him in the lockeroom talking about how he got ‘two rings this year’ because they spent the last five minutes talking about him meeting his wife.

So the first episode ended with about 8 minutes spent on his first 5 years in the NBA and it was mostly ‘he was a difficult rookie’ and ‘he met Vanessa Bryant’.

Then straight into ‘on the next episode, rape allegations’


This doc has some interesting information at times, but is not a very good. It couldn’t hold the Last Dance’s jockstrap.
