As the #5 pick, he probably still has millions in the bank

Until the Jags go after a significant portion of his signing bonus.

I certainly don't consider Del Rio to be a savior, but the a Raiders have had far worse

Haha true, just make sure not to replace JDR with Mike Mularkey if he needs to be shown the door any time soon.

do you have info that says otherwise? The guy is an alcoholic. You can accomplish that fairly economically.

As the top 5 pick, his guarantee was most likely in the 8 figures.

Blackmon came in under the new rookie cap, after the days of the crazy rookie deals handed to first rounders. Plus, he only played in 20 games, and you're not paid when you're on the reserve/suspended list.

Justin Blackmon update: Suspension could cost WR over $10 million in guaranteed money

Vince Young made roughly $30 million over the course of his career and was broke before he was out of the league. These guys aren't exactly wise investors, especially when you factor in potential substance abuse issues.

Honestly, he's apparently in a good place now, and supposedly is worried that getting back into football would jeopardize his sobriety.
