re: Jerry Rice Say's Moss's Laziness Was a Slap in the Face

I don't see how anyone can say definitively from the outside looking in that Moss was lazy or unmotivated.
Wide receiver is an interesting position. It's one of the only positions in football where you can't always involve yourself. If the defense is scheming to stop you, if the QB isn't making the throws, if the plays aren't being called, then it's hard to make an impact. How can anybody say without a doubt that Moss was loafing?
Maybe it was part of his gameplan to lull DBs to sleep. Maybe the position of wide receiver is more psychological than we give it credit for. Or hell, maybe the guy who put up some of the best statistics of all-time knew what the frick he was doing on a football field better than a bunch of talking heads or message board posters.
Granted, Jerry Rice is more qualified than most to assess a receiver, but that doesn't mean he can't be wrong.

If Jerry can share his opinion on Randy Moss the former NFL player, why can't I share my opinion on Jerry Rice the Broadcaster?
Were you one of the best broadcasters to ever step in front of a camera? No
Was Rice of the best wide receivers to ever step on the football field? Yes
That is why he can share his opinion on Randy Moss and your opinion of Jerry Rice the broadcaster is irrelevant.

So you know for a fact he was pulling up because he was lazy? Or scared? Unmotivated?
What if his hamstring had tweaked? What if he thought he heard a whistle? What if there was a miscommunication? (hell, those NEVER ever happen on football fields in front of 50,000+ screaming fans.)
The sample size for Moss' "laziness" is insignificant when considering his career as a whole.

Also, here's that video:

He was interfered with. Despite what Madden or you and your bar buddies believe, it's not easy to run full speed, get tripped, almost fall down, go back to running full speed, and re-locate a ball thrown by an NFL quarterback in a span of 1.3 seconds. Don't be another armchair football player and assume that kind of shite is easy.
