Jamarcus and the "unlit cigar"

Is there some hidden meaning here that I'm missing? I've read like 10 articles that mentioned the pictures where he had a drink in his hand (gasp!) and was "brandishing an unlit cigar". It's always mentioned as if the fact that it was unlit indicates something. Am I missing something here?

I've never heard of this, but it could have been a cig o weed or "blunt" as the negros like to say.
