Outside of the original religious reasoning it makes sense. The day off is one reason they get better employees. If offered even the same money but you know you are guaranteed a weekend day off a lot of folks will want that. This especially applies to management who otherwise end up working all weekend.

meh, that's 6 or 7 games a year. They host 16-20 soccer games a year many of which are not on Sundays. They draw 45-70k every game so that Chick Fil A makes plenty of money
