I think he will desperately try to remain relevant. I think he wanted badly to be an Ali type transcending sports and championing socio-political causes. But he does not have 1/10th the personality and think on your feet smarts of Ali and his attempts seem forced and poorly thought out, and sometimes embarrassing.
The period where he went around holding books so as to be photographed with them is just one example of that. The Graffiti incident another.
The media has done their best to play into this narrative he wants to portray, but it still doesn't resonate with anyone because his personality is what it is.
And from what I heard on ESPN radio yesterday, even they are turning on him over his Memphis comments.
