You have to hedge with 2 favorites. At least the Ky game

This!

I got greedy last week and didn't hedge Mich St. / Uconn. A Mich St win would have all but locked up my pool. Uconn was +225 and stupid me didn't hedge. Live and learn.

So basically, there's 10 guys left, I'm the only one with both UK and fla left. I took UK for today

If UK and UF win, 4 people survive to Monday but the other 3 guys would have no teams left to pick, so regardless of the winner, I still would have fla so that means I win.

If Uconn and UK win, 3 people will survive, I will be forced to pick Uconn Monday, while the other 2 have UK left, I don't want this to play out.

Since I picked UK today, a wisc win leaves me without a dime.

Hope I didn't jinx myself

it means you bet enough money on the teams you didn't pick to ensure you at least get your money back that you entered to get into this pool.

Hedge - (as in hedge your bet). Not familiar with the saying?

Basically it means you need to bet something on the other team so that you guarantee yourself some money regardless of how the game goes. After seeing your post, your situation is a bit more complicated, but given what you said, I would still be betting Wisconsin today. That way, if they win, you win that money, if UK wins, you're still in great position to win the $3,500 less whatever you bet on Wisconsin.

If UF win u should bet a thousand on Wisconsin ML. This way you win a thousand or $2500+.

Exactly. If it were me, I'd probably bet $500 on Wisconsin and a bet on Uconn is pretty juicy for your purposes since they're +300.

Agreed.

Good luck to the OP.

This is why I recommended betting something on Uconn, especially considering you were getting 3-1 (+300 ML). Hope it still works out for you.

So now he has to take UConn. Put a chunk on Kentucky I think they win Monday anyway.

You will get bad odds (guessing -145 or 145 to win 100) on Kentucky ml. You absolutely do not want to bet Kentucky -3 and then they win by 1 or 2 and you lose both. You can still guarantee money either way by betting Kentucky ml. Risk $2030 to win $1400 this way you guarantee yourself $1400 win either way.

Or let it ride and bet a small amount on Kentucky ml just to either win your initial pool buy in back or win the big $3500+.
