Like Savannah State playing Florida St. and OSU. They get paid to get embarrassed, but me and friends were arguing about how much they get paid exactly.

Anyone know the ballpark figure? I found an article about college hoops where teams pocket 780,000 bucks for a couple of rent-a-wins but that's it.

Not really sure how much it is but I remember a while back there was a bit of noise going around to play more FCS schools in-state. Usually we'll play 1 FCS team a year and for a while it seemed to be out-of-state teams so recently we've had a solid run of having in state teams (Furman, Wofford a few times, SC State, etc.) With the idea being if we're going to pay a team to come in might as well keep the $ in-state.

I know not really on topic.

depends on the terms, but it can be anywhere from $400,000 to $1,000,000, sometimes maybe even more

I think McNeese got somewhere in the $500-750k range to go play at Mizzou.

$250k or so to play at LSU.

We got a $200k buyout from A&M where we were supposed to open at.

We'll probably get $500k or so to travel to Tallahasee which we are going in a couple of years.

I know in basketball Miss. Valley State made $90,000 off our non-conference game with them at Rupp.

In the same article it had this tidbit (this is from 2010):

quote:

Playing away games for guaranteed payouts has become a way of life for a lot of schools. This football season saw San Jose State earn $1.825 million by playing back-to-back Saturdays at Alabama and Wisconsin, games SJSU lost by a combined score of 75-17. But don’t confuse the Spartans with the Aztecs of San Diego State, who received $800,000 to play at Missouri this season, its 23rd guaranteed payday since 2000. The Aztecs’ record in those games: 0-23. SDSU’s total take: $6.1 million.

quote:

Ohio State set the single-game bidding standard last season when it paid Navy $1.45 million for a visit to Columbus. This fall, Auburn paid $1 million each for home games against Arkansas State and Louisiana-Monroe, two of 30 matchups nationwide in 2010 that paid out more than $500,000. Next season, San Diego State travels to Michigan for $1,016,800, which is nearly what it can expect to make in an entire season of home ticket sales.
