Y'all were the better team the day we played. my explanations for the loss doesn't change that. You can lose a game and still be the better team

Never let it be said that Saints fans aren't total homers

I think almost everyone who knows me would say I am as realistic as they get.

great rebuttal btw

it isn't like San Fran wiped the field with us, we lost with 9to go on a bad coaching call despite all our mistakes. I haven't made one outlandish claim yet

Vastly inferior is pretty outlandish. The two teams' overall talent levels are fairly even.

I think you are insane if you actually believe that. we had 3 players this year break all time records and our offense had the most yards in NFL history

I think most people would agree with me on that

The Saints losing to Tampa Bay and St. Louis is why they didn't get homefield. When you lose to teams of that quality you can't really bitch about the 49ers playing in a different division.

and we beat all the good teams. Losing to St. Louis is a crime. Tampa Bay was just an unfortunate game where everything went against us. Lets not pretend that Arizona was some powerhouse

And yes, i can still say that the 49ers played in an easier division

The 49ers only good wins were New York and Pitt. Pitt was becoming a shell of themselves at that point

This was all settled all on the field so you have no real argument about anything

The fact that Saints fans arent rushing to back you up speaks Volumes

its a sports discussion, which are usually arguments about nothing. I ignored you the 1st time for a reason. I've already said that they were a better team that day. Most saints fans share my viewpoint

its an opinion, if you don't agree ignore it

FOOTBALL IS NOT JUST OFFENSE

The Saints have an elite offense, the 49ers have an elite defense. Overall, the teams are close to equal talentwise. I would even grant you the Saints might be slightly better just because of Drew Brees. But "Vastly inferior" is a joke. I bet you've never even heard of Navorro Bowman, have you? And while we're talking records, the 49ers D went 14 straight games without allowing a rushing Touchdown. That's the first time that's happened in Pro Football since 1920.

This is why you're a homer.

As a Pats fan, I cant stress to you enough how untrue that is.

ETA you should already know that as a Saints fan but you cant seem to look past the homerism

2007 and 2011 were successful season for the patriots because of defense?

2009 and 2010 super bowl winners had elite passing offenses.

2011 Giants were fifth in passing offense.

The NFL favors offenses now. That is not an outlandish statement.

and yes, i am a homer...i'm cool with that. but so are you san fran fans if you think that team can win a super bowl in today's nfl with that offense

No Niner fan here said that. We need more weapons on offense and probably a little bit better o-line. We need to sign Colston or some other red zone target and draft another. Alex Smith is no prize but if he doesn't turn the ball over like he was able to do this year then yes I think it's possible but not yet. I also like that Smith is only getting a 2 year deal so we can go to Kaepernick and see what he can do if Smith regresses. Baalke has done a great job as GM and Harbaugh is obviously a massive improvement. If you seriously don't think the 49ers are only a handful of moves from being right there then you're letting your hate blind you.

i don't hate the niners...definitely still bitter about the playoff game though. The two teams that wound up in the Super Bowl were the ones with the QB and passing O is all i'm saying. The NFL seems to be trending that way, so the niners should get themselves a better QB.

I absolutely enjoyed watching the niners D last season when they weren't playing the saints

Smith's numbers last year were very similar to Brad Johnson's in 2002. It's been proven you can win a SB with a non elite QB but obviously he needs more weapons to throw to.

definitely need WR help...hope the Saints can keep Colston. A team could win the super bowl Brad Smith like in 2002...I don't know if they can today
