New development - Grambling sent emails to players earlier today threatening to take away scholarships
also the band made the trip... so NO ONE will care that the FB team isn't there.

Well, they did lose to ULM. ULM destroyed Arky for Gods sake, their wrath was no match for GSU.

they don't need anyone to replace them for two reasons -
1) the season was a waste anyways, coaches were spread thin, haven't won a game.
2) Saves the university money, and in their eyes removes a huge distraction to the university.

What about salaries associated with the program and contracts with vendors and financial commitments to the remaining schools on the schedule.
There is a lot more to canceling a season than simply saying "season's over" now go home.
There will be more lawsuits than players on the GSU roster. Somebody has to come up with the money and there will be NO revenue coming in.

What I find interesting is the players have more leverage than the school. All the school can do is yank their scholarships, but they'll be eating a lot of liquidated damages, especially from the Bayou Classic.
Bet that weight room flooring seems pretty cheap now. (Oh wait, it was paid for by the alums, it just wasn't "filtered" properly)

I'm sure most of the players qualify for pell, so taking their scholarship away isn't much of a threat
