Because you lost to a team that has turned out to be a sub .500 team. Oregon's loss is getting a pass in comparison cause it was against a good 8-2 team.
Had we played and lost to Va Tech, we would not be no. 2.
Our SOS is also better than Ohio State's. We have a win over a top 10 team and two teams in the top 20. You guys share one of those top 20 wins with us and have a win against a fringe top 25 team. Our opponents' combined W-L record is also better than Ohio State's.
For all these reasons, Oregon is firmly in the playoff picture as it stands, and Ohio State is not.
