Cluess always had Iona in the top tier, and definitely had his teams cooking in March. But pitino took it to the next level, they have dominated that league. The conference race was never even close the last 2 years and wouldn’t have been in 21 except for covid

I imagine the Junior Joseph guy will be a candidate to follow him to SJU, maybe a couple others.

I’m from the area - and tons of friends that went to Iona Prep - and never heard of the story about Lou C keeping Iona out of the original Big East. I’d love to hear/read more about this. Any links? I can’t find anything on Google. TIA.
