Dude's been pretty much running the Network the past 5 years. I bet they don't hire anyone without his say. How he signed off on Kendrick Perkins I'll never know....literally 100's of more qualified options including Wesley and Daniels of the Pelicans. And hoops is supposed to be Stephen A's forte?

pay the man whatever he wants. he's the most nuanced, insightful sports commentator in the world. he deserves probably around 40mil a year.

Talk about a waste of money. For that kind of money you could fund an entire league or leagues of minor sports.

ESPN pays guys like to Stephan A. to uphold stereotypes. There are several black commentators on their network that are barely literate. This is done on purpose. All of the non-athletes I knew at LSU and the bulk of the athletes spoke English well. That’s just one college. ESPN could hire better people if they wanted.
