After his HBO Bull Durham BS, I don't blame them.

He's gotten insanely annoying.

"they did what they thought was right at the time"

Jesus.

LA really is a strange place. AFter living there two years, this is kind of surreal. It's shockingly racist and segregated.

So, how did the cops get off? What evidence was there that proved them not guilty?

The verdict and riots remind me of this Cube song:

quote:

Not guilty, the filthy, devils tried to kill me
When the news get to the hood the ****s will be
Hotter than cayenne pepper, cuss, bust
Kickin up dust is a must
I can't trust, a cracker in a blue uniform
Stick a **** like a unicorn
Born, wicked, Laurence, Powell, foul
Cut his frickin throat and I smile
Go to Simi Valley and surely
Somebody knows the address of the jury
Pay a little visit, "Who is it?" (Ohh it's Ice Cube)
"Can I talk to the grand wizard," then boom!!
Make him eat the barrel, modern day feral
Now he's zipped up like Leather Tuscadero
Pretty soon we'll catch Sergeant Koon
Shoot him in the face, run up in him with a broom-
...
I gotta mac-10 for Officer Wind
Damn his devil arse need to be shipped back to Kansas
In a casket, crew cut ****
Now he ain't nothin but food for the maggots

We Had to Tear This MFer Up.
Lyrics.

Trusting cops actions back then in white communities was commonplace. Cops were the good guys from TV.

The jurors also saw the major battle cops had between King and the cops before the on the ground beating.

It was presented to the jury as an out of control man on PCP and other drugs who almost killed innocents on the freeways of LA driving like a loon and fleeing from the cops...and who was about to curb stomp 5 cops who couldn't handle his size.

They finally took him to the ground...and took retaliation in the civil rights crime we saw.

Reginald Denny was insanely F-ed up. I always forget how brutal that is to watch.

He was super close to being dead. Skull was fractured in 91 places or something.

Wow, that was an incredible defense. Not saying they were correct but it's a fascinating spin

The two towns who traded the title for most racist city back and forth for years was Miamisburg, OH and another in Wisconsin. The name of which just walked out of my head.

It's amazing how much race influenced this case, this was a slam-dunk case for the prosecution and they deliberated only for a few hours for a not-guilty verdict.
