This. Auburn couldn’t play arky or Memphis as the 8 because they played them regular season. Couldn’t go against Bama round 2 so it was happenstance.

The committee could’ve thrown them into another 1 seed but by and large the whole idea of the pod system is to try to cut down on travel as much as possible

I wouldn’t be excited if I was Houston, but this essentially happened because the committee has a lot of crap to juggle to do this, and frankly bham is the closest spot to Houston

Yep, this is way better.

Let the same sub-regional teams play on the same court.
