Oh I'm sure it's backed by science, I'm just saying that I don't think the impact is that severe (typically)

Also, why would ball companies want to make their ball more water resistant? At the least, they would want balls to be less waterproof bc they make zero on the used market

Humidity, pressure, etc. think of wearing a jacket out to play golf instead of a breathable Nike Dri-Fit or something. The Nike is going to be alot more breathable, not capturing that heat within the shirt or jacket and heating your core body temperature up.

Same is applicable with the ball. If the core heats up it's performance is affected.

No, it doesn't have that large of an adverse effect, but does make a difference depending one what condition the core is in. The outside of the ball make look fantastic, but someone looking for consistent spin will not get it out of a lot of refurbished balls.

Well when I start making great shots every time I will switch to new balls. Until then, +/- 5 yards doesn't bother me in the slightest.

New. I have dealer reps give me Pro V1 with their logos on them several times a year. I probably have 3 dozen in my locker and another dozen in my bag.
