I've refuted just about everything you've said in this thread

no you haven't all you have said is they lost ever time they've played top SEC teams which amounts to twice

This is a game of luck and randomness you dumbass. What a horrible analogy

there you go again, taking everything literally. the point is a small sample like 2 games doesn't give you enough information to draw a definative conclusion (other than what actually happened) yet you see 2 games say it proves your point. They lost to Auburn and LSU thats it. if you could play those games 100 times it would probably be close to 50-50, maybe 45-55 or at worst 40-60. In any 1 game, you can get just about any outcome.

quote:

I also get that they always have video game numbers until they play a good defense.

that's a different argument. Of course they wouldn't rack you 700 yds and 60 points on better D's. But Bama wouldn't shut them out and hold them to 92 total yards either. Both would be worse than avg against each most likely (Bama D would give up more than avg and Oregons O would do less than avg.)

quote:

But so far, very recent history suggests that Good SEC defenses trump their high powered offense. That's all I've said, and I have facts to back that up. What do you have?

See, you still don't understand. 1 game against 1 good SEC team 2 years ago proves nothing other than they lost that 1 game. Since you can't or won't see it as anything but literal, there's nothing else I can say other than maybe we'll see.

While UO has never beaten a top SEC team recently, the sample size is still pretty small. The Auburn game could have gone either way and UO hung on for a while in the LSU game before LSU took control in the second half.

Thank, you. This is the point I've tired to make throughout this thread (my response to you was scarasm). At least someone gets it

That's all I needed to do to refute you. Not sure what else to tell you. Sorry I have proof and you have none.

Not my fault you suck at making comparisons.

There are other high powered offenses that have been shut down by the SEC. See OU, OSU twice, and that's just in title games. The list is huge.

that's a different argument

No it isn't, it's the whole point. The only way Oregon wins games against elite teams is to score a lot. They aren't built to win a 9-6 type game.

I really don't know what else to tell you at this point. Many flashy offenses have been shut down by the good SEC defenses. Sorry you ignore history.

I'm gonna scream this in hopes that it sinks in this time: NO ONE SAID THAT OREGON CAN'T WIN

quote:

A good defense will always beat a good offense. Oregon would lose to a great SEC team 9 out 10 times

Against top SEC teams, Oregon really doesn't have a shot IMO

2 quotes, 1 from you saying they have little or no shot.

Considering the 9 out of 10 one isn't mine, good job.

And you can say a team could win, but still give them little chance. Are you mentally challenged?
