10 years from now, history will show that trade to be one of the worst in Cub history. Houston got 3 very good starting players who could be around for a while. Chicago got a sulky 1-year rental who crashed and burned.
OFFS, 2 of them are DFY, 1 has barely played this year & Cam Smith is still a big ????

Rah Rah, get off my lawn! Miss me with the "respect the game" crap. If he had run it out you'd still be here bitching about him grounding out again.
I absolutely would you are right about that, but not running at all made it much worse. You don't have to respect the game and you can rationalize and excuse lack of hustle and effort if you want to that is your right. I'm gonna continue to criticize it for as long as I am able.

The truth is, you're projecting your anger about how the Cubs have been playing recently onto something that literally didn't make a difference.
Making a difference is relative and subjective. I would say always hustling and giving effort does make some difference....your talking about the outcome of the play or game.....setting a standard and and example in my opinion absolutely makes a difference. And if the Cubs were winning and he was playing well don't you think for one second I would not be as upset - that's got absolutely zero to do with it.

Brewers appear to be in their own heads last night during those games, A LOT of mental mistakes

They were due for a downturn, they've had several guys playing pretty well above projections for quite a while and honestly could not have played much better. They really could not have expected to keep that up.

But but but I thought they couldn't lose a game!

Cubs might be starting to turn it around now.

Not defending Kyle Tucker by any means, but this article and story are starting to float around.

Heck of a game tonight
Keeping Shaw over Cam Smith is starting to look better and better. Great to win the season series over the Brew Crew. They brought a lot of fans to Wrigley and the have been a bit quiet the last 3 days. Been a rough couple of months for the Cubbies but this helps ease some of that pain.

They'll jump ship once the NFL starts, 99.99% of Brewers fans also follow the Packers.

Got Imanaga on the mound today then its out west against the Angels, Giants and Rockies
The Brewers have Giants(home) D-Backs(home) then @ Toronto.
The division is still in play!

If the Cubs can start hitting again it absolutely is. The Brewers have been performing well above what they are for an extraordinarily long period of time. There was inevitably going to be at least some regression to mean, and maybe it's happening now. The Cubs will have to do their part though, we'll see.

I'd rather play for the division than play just to make the playoffs.
Win the division, get a bye, and give the Padres a chance to beat the Brewers out of the playoffs.

Absolutely, for no other reason than the Cubs should. They have twice the payroll Milwaukee does.... and the Brewers have been whipping the Cubs tails for the past 4 years.

Great job by the bullpen 5 scoreless innings in the dub to nullify the series and leave Chicago with a 7 game lead in the division!
