The Cowboys are sending the Steelers two draft picks in the trade that brings cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to Dallas.

The Steelers will get a 2027 sixth-round pick and 2028 second-round pick, according to multiple reports. The 2027 sixth-round pick is the Steelers’ own sixth-rounder, which they had previously traded to the Cowboys as part of the George Pickens deal.

For the Cowboys, it’s a move that’s about bolstering the defense immediately with a player who’s in the final year of his contract, whereas for the Steelers it’s about acquiring future draft capital for a player who clearly wanted more money than the Steelers were going to be willing to pay.
