i was thinking about this even if James was playing but decided to lay off.
i typically make two card bets, one at 12 teams and the other is whatever i'm really confident in(be it 5 teams or 9 teams). Progressive parlay gives some good payouts and the ability to lose a few and still get some cash.

This = no play for me. I don't know alot about Pac 12 teams to begin with(sans Oregon); add in these two things amongst seeing how each team has done previously this year and the only way I'd play it is in a ML parlay
