Coach Weiner Jr would be better of staying away from Catholic. Catholic has basically no retirement at all. He would have to coach there forever. He is better off staying in the public school system. Less headaches than dealing with that alumni. I actually think he or Sid Edwards could do what Achord did for baseball and turn the football program around. The question is do they want the headache?

I couldn't care less about any of that, that's the individual's choice. I'm sure any new coach will be well rewarded if they're successful, besides I'm sure each situation has their own benefits and drawbacks

Catholic scored 43 points. He needs Garidel back.

On the flipside, Catholic baseball is quite happy without Garidel.

St. Aug quarterback Terry Lucas fired five touchdown passes to lead the Purple Knights to 693 total yards. Catholic finished with 542 yards of its own, but couldn’t keep up with Lucas and freshman Leonard Fournette. Lucas connected on 11 of 12 passes for 282 yards — including TDs of 45, 55, 67, 5 and 27 yards — and gained 126 yards on 19 carries. Fournette rushed for 277 yards and TDs of 19, 69 and 19 yards. Catholic High lost despite the solid play of Scott Salinas, who rushed for 235 yards and four touchdowns on just 13 carries. Salinas had TD runs of 67, 51 and 70 yards in the second quarter and his 6-yard run in the third period pulled the Bears to within 35-29. Quarterback Zack Oliver was 15-of-22 passing for 168 yards and a 7-yard TD to Samuel Abboud and added 126 rushing yards and a 1-yard TD.
