He did the most he could with those squads.

Not one quality player above 6'4 in his 6 years there(best player was kevin miller and zumo)

His problem is that he couldnt get the best athletes in the school to play or stick on the basketball team.

17 collegiate football players in the last three years, 15 of which were D-1, and not one of them played ball their junior or senior year. Todd Lee, Jason Peters, Thomas Broussard, Devan Walker were the only guys to play basketball and they all quit before their senior year..

Really really disagree with this.

How do you disagree with it? Those are some pretty damn good facts right there.

Point is, if he had the athletes come play for him he would have won. But, he counldnt do that.

BomBay i'd tell you but i'm too closely affiliated with the school. Both as a former basketabll player and a current coach (though not a basketball coach).

My name on here gives away who i am ...

So with that said i'll keep my opinions to myself.

Catholic also did pretty good in non-district games this season.

Good for them. They need something to brag about considering their swift exit from the playoffs this year.

I hope they pat themselves on the back for those non district wins.

You mean like winning 3 consecutive district 5A basketball titles?

Ill say it again, Catholic has had ZERO competition in their district since the days of Tasmin Mitchell being at Denham.

So, 3 straight district titles, in their district, is hardly something to hang your hat on.

I'll have to disagree considering that feat has never ever been accomplished at Catholic in any era of Catholic High BB history.

This fact shows you how weak their district is even more.

Also, if it was 3 state championships, then it would be a feat. But, you are talking about district championships here. Hardly a great feat.

Isn't it funny when a bunch of 6 foot and under CSAL boys win it all, guys like you think the district is weak.

Being in a weak district really shows when you get to the playoffs. I would be willing to bet you that CHS has lost in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs, each of the last 3 years that they have won district titles, and that they have lost to teams each year that were lower seeds than them.

Just another example of being in a shitty district and how that gets exploited in the playoffs when you have to play someone who is actually worth a shite.

I hear lynxcat has been contacted and expressed mild interest.

He's torn between the CHS job and his continued mentoring of George Pugh.

Some BB teams are better built for sudden death type playoffs than others. Catholic would do much better in a 5 or 7 game format.

Personally I would rather Catholic win district than make a 2 or 3 game run in the playoffs.
