Redskin and Seminole aren’t even comparable at all. If you can’t see that, I don’t know what to tell you.

“Florida State University’s official use of the Seminole name is different from other names in that it does not perpetuate offensive racial stereotypes nor is it meant to diminish or trivialize any Native American or indigenous peoples. Instead, it is used with explicit tribal permission and involvement to honor and promote the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s unconquered history and spirit that persists to this day.”

IOW, FSU paid a lot of money for their endorsement

The Redskins should just take the Seminoles route and become affiliated with an actual Native American tribe. The Washington Cherokee, or something to that extent.

That way you can actually continue to fully honor Native American history, while also being respectful.

I personally have always liked their logo and color scheme. The logo is fine, I dont think anyone has ever had an issue with the logo. Otoh, I can see why some would have issue with the actual name and could see it as mocking.
