So you want every school to just promise they'll stop setting up future games for the next 10-15 years?

Sure? I mean like you said a lot of teams already have them scheduled so just wait until you get through them to fully start the new scheduling process.

How would this work for schools that do a 2-1 deal? Would they no longer be allowed to do that? What about long term OOC rivals? Would South Carolina/Clemson have to be set up on a year by year basis?

They can still schedule those, just schedule the 2 for 1 a year or two before the series starts and schedule your next one in another year or two, and just repeat. As for annual meetings....well they're annual meetings they're a permanent fixture of the schedule unless the rivalry gets discontinued.

Pac 12 has decided Utah will play Washington this weekend. A game with BYU never would have happened.

When their football page sends out a tweet that says "Any Team, Any Time, Any Place" and then doesn't jump at the chance of getting their first P5 game of the year, they're going to get a PR hit.

The issue people had with BYU is they wanted to wait until the rankings on Tuesday before accepting the game. They should have just accepted it from the beginning and worst case the Utah/ASU game gets canceled and they no longer have a game that wasn't on their schedule last week anyways.

Too bad, BYU would have won.

UW has annihilated BYU two years in a row. Last year with a very mediocre team in Provo. I'm biased, but UW at minimum would give BYU all they could handle.

Yes, they're "different" teams but.....

2018: UW 35 BYU 7
2019: UW 45 BYU 19

I doubt the script would have been changed too much.
