fwiw your link isn't bitching about lee being mentioned in these conversations
fwiw..."Bruce Lee was the original mixed martial artist. His mantra, “Study everything and keep what works,” is the building block on which MMA is built. It would have been a blast to see him compete today.
The fact that Lee was also an actor has led the casual fan to muse about other prominent film martial artists today and what they might do in the octagon."

Good article and i agree with what he was saying about movie fighting and Jackie Chan. All he said was that Bruce Lee was the original mixed martial artist and it would be a blast to see him compete today.
I think he was annoyed by people who think other movie fighters could compete in MMA
He still was an actor. But I agree, those top ten musing are dead on. I've got a short temper these days with the ignorant comments I hear at bars watching MMA. I think the Kimbo comments annoys me the most.

I agree with this, but i'm just wondering how Bruce Lee would do. It seems as if the writer of that article would also like to see how he would do today

I think we're on the same page with people who don't know much about MMA trying to discuss it. I didn't mean to hit a nerve with this topic.

I think most of all is that I have no one outside of this board who is interested in MMA. I have no one to discuss it with. It's like talking football with my mom: "OK, which color is our team again."

I box but I'm OK at it (short arms). I wish they had MMA when I was growing up. I'm too old to start now. It would have been a perfect fit for my build. I would have loved to learned BJJ and kickboxing.

I grew up playing all sports, except for combat sports. Im 30 now, but would have liked to start MMA earlier. BJJ is fun and extremely difficult. I took a few classes and was sore in places i didnt know i had.

Posted on 6/23/09 at 3:19 pm to The Ramp
Usually at friends houses or if i can't catch them live I'll watch online. I've never watched at a bar
