i also think mccoy is a crap QB, but the browns drafted him despite the limited upside; small QBs with weak arms arent particularly desirable commodities in the NFL.

Yeah, he only set the collegiate record.

McCoy was a second third round pick. If he worked out it would have been great, nut that would be a bonus. Look at all the other picks. Haden, Owning Atlanta last year, Phil Taylor, Jaball Sheard, Greg Little, Jason Pinkston, TJ Ward, all great picks.

And the Browns should have continued building up their roster instead of taking a 90 year old Ginger in the 1st round. Their draft would have looked a lot better if they had taken DeCastro at 22 and one of the top WRs on the board at 37. It would have made their roster much more formidable. If McCoy still shows no sign of improvement next season, they can just select a QB from a much deeper QB draft class next year.

oh, i agree on the colt mccoy crappy QB part, but he contradicts himself by saying the browns owned the draft when in the draft they selected colt mccoy.

To give an example, just look at the 49ers under Alex Smith. Smith showed few signs of being a viable NFL starting QB under Nolan and Singletary but the 49ers didn't draft a single QB in the first three rounds until after Smith's sixth year in the league. Instead, they wisely used their high draft choices to plug holes in other areas and build up their roster depth and it has paid off big-time for them.

If you think he is accurate I question whether or not you have seen him play in the NFL.

The only team in the league Im glad I don't have the same QB situation. Romo will never win anything.

Preaching to the choir. I think they royally fricked up last night. Didnt need to trade up to 3, and Weeden is McCoy 2.0.

Now I know you're a dumbass.

Romo had the 4th best QB rating in the league last year.

Yeah, you really are stupid. A football team has many more components than just the quarterback. The lack of postseason success has very little to do with Romo.

I should have known you lack any kind of critical reasoning when you openly expressed your love of Obama.

Ill be here when you realize Romo isn't the guy. My guess is that will happen about December, but you seem to be stubborn, may take longer for you.

PS - The rest of the country that aren't Cowboys fans, figured it out 2 years ago.

Taking Weeden when DeCastro was available is why the Browns are the Browns & the Steelers are the Steelers.

Keep talking. This is great.

Romo is a scrub, McCoy lacks accuracy, and Obama is the greatest president we have ever had.

You are either a troll or the dumbest poster on this message board.

Whats great is you are so convinced you know what you are talking about. The facts are Colt McCoy is a scrub, Tony Romo isnt a winner, and Barry Obamz is the fricking man.

Ill bump this when McCoy is cut, Romo losses yet another game when it matters, and Obama is re-elected.

As a Ravens fan, I'm relieved that I don't have to worry about the Browns being good. The division's incredibly brutal as it is with the Steelers and an up-and-coming Bengals squad. If the Browns had drafted at DeCastro, they would have been set at offensive line for the next ten years. Add that to a promising young defense, Richardson at RB, and no long-term financial commitment to a QB, and their future would have looked very bright. Instead, they're stuck wasting another three or four years with Weeden and their offensive line is still mediocre. The Browns are just a dumb organization.

Not that bad, but he is never going to lead a team to anything.

High comp% in a spread offense =/= accuracy.

Ill disagree here. Colt was far and away the best offensive skill player we had last year. Every single other skill position stunk..period. That shows what he had to work with.

McCoy is far from a bum and we are making a mistake wasting a pick on Weeden and letting Colt go. I watched all 16 too.
