That would be a scary second round matchup for Duke with Baylor. Two close to similar teams, but I almost think Baylor has a little more firepower than Duke does except Duke has the defense

Baylor has more firepower based on what?

pisces if you were able to see the first half of the louisville wvu game today you would see why im so high on the cards

I listened to some of it on the radio. I'll straight up admit to you...they're fire as hell. They get points off the bench like it ain't nothin. If this team had D. Caracter with a straight head, no one would beat them. That said, they're fine without him. If L'ville beats U Conn by 10 or more, I'll go ahead and crown them ahead of OU. WVU is a good team and shot horribly, but L'ville was just strong in every area of the game. No, I cannot blame you.

I think we should win this one.

Don't be so sure. I think it'd be a great game. I might give the edge to OSU, but SC is coming out of nowhere and beating teams. Good teams.

Anyway, how do y'all feel about LSU playing a one loss Utah State? That's the sort of team I would rather not play.

Oh, I agree. USC's playing some good ball lately. I guess I meant I think we have a good shot in this one.

I remember probably around 2001 or 2002 we lost to them in the first round as a 4 seed. Really has nothing to do with now, but I guess what I'm saying is I would not take that program lightly.

If y'all can just find a way to get hot and win the Big 10 tourney...at least get to the final..you could get a 6 or 7.

I see the BIg 10 like this:

1. MSU
2. Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio State, Penn State

The Big 10's almost like the ACC was in football this year. A lot of good/solid teams (depth) but no real great teams.

i said this today to one of my buddies. there isnt a deeper team in the country than louisville

they go almost 5 deep at guard and big

goode and jennings are playing straight fiya, and the guard combo of sosa, smith, mcgee, knowles, and then some shooters off the bench

straight deep as hell

myth. they play d, its just a matter of getting everyones head in the right spot

Caracter with a straight head, no one would beat them. That said, they're fine without him

agreed 100000%. i still think he was the best player on last years squad

they turned it on in the second half though, and they madea run, but the cards played too well to let them back in it

its just awesome being at a school where basketball is waht it is here. im really excited for monday

and yes, if they beat uconn, which will obviously be hard as frick as uconn is just awesome, they are number one in my eyes

only thing the ville has going for it is that they have a bunch of fouls in the post with clark, samuels, goode and jennings. should be a battle come monday night

Yeah, but the thing that fools people about them is that they beat Utah by 2 pts and lost to BYU. Aside from that, no one impressive has been taken down by them.

They'll get an 11, as opposed to a 13 or 14 simply because of their record. Nevada was like this a coupleof years ago. I think we can take them. If my bracket was the real one, I'd feel pretty good if I were an LSU fan.

I think you and I have the poorest communication of any two posters on this site.

D didn't stand for defense. It stood for Derrick.

It's all good. As much as we've butted heads, you're a basketball fan just like Stro, Zealot, S, Buckeye, etc. etc. and I totally dig that.

I'm not drunk. My head hurt from yelling at the game so I took a few lortabs and downin em with Coke Zero. So...I'm definitely having fun on TD.com

I've heard there's like 600,000 people in Kentucky still without power. Do you expect yours back any time soon?

Luckily, I read that's supposed to pretty much miss our region.

Looking at your team a lil closer, man...it's gonna be hard to leave you guys out of the tourney.

Quality wins over Miami, Notre Dame, Butler (nice one),2 over Michigan...that looks very good even though most were in December.

That win over Houston Baptist...wow!

The key for OSU in not so much getting in, but getting a better seed, is to not get swept by Illinois, steal a win at Purdue, and not slip up and lose to Wiscy or Northwestern. Ya took care of business today by beating the botttom feeder Hoosiers. By the way, does Tom Crean wish he was back in the sunny state of Wisconsin or what?

Especially because Miami was on the road, and ND was at a neutral site. Going at Michigan and getting a win was pretty good, since that was where one of Duke's losses came. However, Miami and ND seem to be slipping. Those appeared to be GREAT wins at the beginning, but they're starting to look less and less impressive.

That game was way too close. No excuse being for being down to them at the half.

IU's one of the pinnacle professions in college basketball. It's up there with Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, etc, IMO. You can't just pass on it. He knew that this year's team would be awful, since they basically lost every scholarship player from last year. But they have a solid recruiting class for next year, and should soon be challenging for the Big 10 Championship again. Marquette's having a great year, but I doubt he regrets leaving.

Yeah, IU is right there...I agree. At some point, though, wheh does "risk vs. reward" enter a coach's mind?

Crean is probably making a lot more money now with IU than he would at Marquette had he won back to back national titles. I never thought Crean was THAT proven, either. I know he's a disciple of Tom Izzo and many "experts" rave about him. Nonetheless, he went to a final 4 and that was about it. He lost in the first round in '06 to Bama.

Also, Marquette isn't small fries and mediocre university. This is a school with great tradition and a tree of excellent head coaches from McGuire to Lard arse. They moved to the Big East and competed. D Wade is an ambassador for them and probably a huge recruiting tool. They are like many Big East schools who have nothing but basketball, so their fanbase is very loyal.

Indiana, along with Kentucky, UCLA, North Carolina, Duke, and U Conn, has ridiculous expectations. It's "on top of the world" when you win a c'ship. Mike Davis couldn't hack it, after nearly winning it all. Kelvin Samson had to cheat in virtually fricking public to think he could get the team to be what it once was. Now, Crean must endure Samson's bullshite and hope he can steer the ship around. If he cannot get it done in 2 years (next and the year after), good-bye. Whereas, at Marquette, he'd be good for practically life.

How much more is he making now at IU by the way?
