I'm a Baton Rouge native who now lives in Austin and I somehow wound up with tickets to tomorrow's showdown(beatdown?) between UT & OSU. I need some advice on what tailgating is like down there and how early I should show up or if there is anything interesting worth showing up early to the stadium for at all. Do they check people at the gate for alcohol very well? Important questions
O yeah and

UT fans will tell you to do what you should not do.
Plenty of parking in the area between the Stadium and the Capitol. Near the IMAX theatre. Pay to park of course.
There is also parking near I-35. THis may be free. It will be a hike to the stadium but I believe they let you walk through the track stadium.
The Tailagating is spread out and not that great. Most people go to bars/restarants before the game.
Pregame is nothing special.
